This message is for all parents, guardians, coaches and children of Stepaside FC:
Over the coming weeks, you will likely see & hear more about the DDSL campaign, supported by Q102, called 'IT'S OUR GAME' - this campaign is aimed at improving the behavior and language on the sidelines across Dublin at the DDSL matches.
To be fair, in my opinion, based on the matches I have attended, we have a fantastic group of parents and coaches, but we know that some of players do feel additional pressure when they hear a parent being a little frustrated with them or can just see their body language, so we know we can always do better.
So, as we progress further into the season, let's all remember to keep encouraging all our kids, not just our own. Leave the coaching to the coaches, so they can provide the right direction and so kids do not get confused with too many voices.
We all want our children to win matches, but the true win comes from keeping kids in sport for as long as possible.
Thanks for your support
