A number of weeks ago we sent a message asking for help from all parents in oder to help us safeguard the children involved with SFC. The reply to this request was very poor and we are again asking parents to help us protect all of the children who play for the club. As voluntary members of the committee we all appreciate that time is not always easy to come by, but this is a key requirement to keep the club going so we would ask all parents who can make some time available to help in this regard to let one of your coaches know ASAP.

The more people we have the less work and responsibility that will rest on any one person's shoulders.

Your child’s safety and welfare are of paramount importance to us at Stepaside FC. As the number of children who train and play with Stepaside FC continues to grow so too does our commitment to safeguarding each and every child. By working under the guidance of the FAI’s Safeguarding Policies and procedures, our coaches and volunteers working with our children and young people, throughout the Club, seek to create a safe and fun environment for children and young people to participate in their sport.

To ensure adherence to the FAI Safeguarding Policies and procedures we need to appoint a Child Protection officer for your child’s team. The role of the Child Protection Officer is one of the most important in the Club. The Child Protection officer will act as a resource to members with regard to children’s issues and also ensure that children have a voice in the running of the club and can freely talk of their experiences thus creating a quality atmosphere in the club.

We are determined to ensure all necessary steps are taken to protect from harm, those children and young people who participate in coaching sessions/games at all levels with Stepaside Football Club and that the children’s welfare is kept always to the fore of the club and therefore seek your support and assistance as we continue to grow.

We would very much welcome any expressions of interest in this vitally important position and are available to answer any queries or questions you may have. Please let your child's coach know if you are interested in playing a part in this important role.
