Yesterday the Stepaside U13 Girls, beat Marks Celtic in the SFAI Cup. But what came after the game, showed the true spirit of this team.
Earlier in the week, the team became aware that one of the Mark's Celtic's players, Lexi, had required emergency brain surgery in September and she will need to travel to England for further treatment. A Go Fund Me page had been set up to support the family, and on hearing this, the girls all agreed to gather their pocket money, to show solidarity with Lexi and her family,
After Sunday's game, Stepaside Team Captain, Erin Liddy, presented a card, signed by all 28 players, and a contribution to the fund of €259.
What a wonderful act of kindness by this amazing team! Truly heartwarming.
